Literacy Center
Mission Statement
The goal of the Pleasant Grove Literacy Center is to offer effective one-on-one training to help
families and individuals develop the necessary literacy skills to thrive in society, and find value
in their work and personal lives.
Make a Difference
The Center is a unique community resource for building literacy, academic ability, and a love for
reading and writing. However, the Literacy Center needs volunteer tutors to bring these advantages into
the lives of its participants. The Center can only serve as many students as it has tutors to support,
and many people are deferred to a waiting list. Tutoring requires no previous experience—the program is
simple, effective, and easy to follow. The Center's director is on hand to provide materials and answer
any questions. For only two hours a week, you can make a difference in someone's life. Come and be a
tutor and friend. The gift of education changes lives forever.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to be tutored, please contact us:
